Lund “Flat” style skis. The leather strap bindings have probably been replaced, but look very authentic. What is nice about this pair of antique skis is that you can see the late Lund label and they come with bamboo ski poles.
Vintage Northland Ski Company catalogs document Christian Lund was born in Norway in 1880, and founded Northland Ski Company in 1911. Northland also had a less expensive line, Lund Skis. It had an eastern factory in Laconia, New Hampshire. In the 1920s and early 1930s Northland published some of the first U.S. how-to-ski pamphlets printed in the U.S.
Lund and Northland skis were manufactured in Hastings and St. Paul, Minnesota. From the 1920's into the 1930's, Northland Manufacturing Company was the nation’s largest producer of skis, toboggans, snowshoes and hockey sticks.The ski poles we have paired these with are 53" tall, and the baskets are complete - there are no breaks in the rings or the leather lacing, which is nice.
