Antique Lund Skis - Maple
c. 1920-1930, 20th century
Wood, Metal
72"l x 3"w
© Vintage Winter

A very fine example of vintage Maple Lund skis. These skis have their original leather strap "cable" binding & foot pads. They also have 1920s pointed tips, and the labels are well-preserved. This matched pair shows their unique serial number stamped into them.

Northland Ski Manufacturing Company was founded as the C. A. Lund Company in Hastings, Minnesota, by Norwegian-born Christian A. Lund in 1911. Skis, Poles, Boots, Bindings, Toboggans, and Snowshoes were manufactured at Hastings, Minnesota, St. Paul, and Laconia, New Hampshire. By the mid-1920s and 1930s, Northland was the nation’s largest producer of Winter Sporting equipment.
