Vintage 1970s Dark Brown Velvet Wide Leg Pant Suit, Small

Gorgeous rich brown velvet women's pant suit from the 70s. So good! 

Jacket:
Single breast, v-neck, pointed notched lapel, shoulder pads, 3 buttons on sleeve ends, 3 button front closure, welt breast pocket, full lining. 

Pants:
Wide leg, fly zipper and hook closure, no belt loops, no pockets, flat front, full lining. 

COLOUR: Dark Mahogany Brown. 
It shows up as dark maroon-brown or plum-brown in some of the photos, but those warm tones are not as evident in person. 

FABRIC: Soft plush cotton velveteen 

LABEL: Gainsborough Parisiennes par Irving Samuel (Canadian label that was based in Montreal). 

MEASUREMENTS:
Approximate, taken while laying flat.
✂--- Allow for some ease.

Jacket:
Bust: 36" (91.5 cm)
Waist: 32" (81 cm)
Length: 26.5“ (67 cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 14.5“ (37 cm)
Sleeve: 23“ (58.5 cm)

Pants:
Waist: 26" (66 cm)
Hip: 36" (91.5 cm)
Rise: 12.5" (32 cm)
Inseam: 33" (84 cm)

CONDITION: Good. 
The lining hem needs to be restitched on the jacket. 
A small tear on the lining of the pants. 
Hanger marks on the pant waistband. 
A couple of small scuffs. 

This set was decommissioned from our rentals stock and has an IDC label hand sewn on the inside of each piece.
