Vintage 1950s Butterfly Embroidery White Cotton Cone Bralette, x2

1950s bullet-style cotton cone bra/bralette with decorative abstract butterfly embroidery stitching on the the cups and an openwork seam running horizontally across the centre of the cups. There is an interesting strap design that extends to between the two cups and a triangular cut-out between the cups, below which there is elastic.

It has no underwire or boning. There is a hook and eye closure at the back but the elastic needs to be replaced. It is soft with no padding. 

This would be a great item for copying the pattern and making your own replica bras!

CONDITION:

Both bras are quite worn. The elastic strips need to be replaced. There are breaks in the open-work stitching which has been visibly mended. Areas of discolouration with the area around the metal strap hooks quite stained. The straps and closures are frayed. 

Bra 1: Replacement elastic across the front. 

Bra 2: Much more visible mending throughout the side panels and openwork seam on the cups.

We recommend these bras for pattern copying.
