The MF® SWABBIES Type II revisits our vintage US Navy dungarees-inspired jeans pattern in a dark 10 Oz. selvedge double indigo twill. This edition faithfully recreates the dramatic wrap-leg construction and authentic 1940s-style bell-bottom silhouette of period naval dungarees.

Our vintage USN dungarees-inspired denim jeans pattern, featuring wrap-leg construction and an authentic, uncompromised 1940s-style navy bell-bottom cut.

FABRIC:
10 Oz. selvedge double indigo twill, milled in Japan.

• Black 1940s-style laurel leaf starburst metal donut waist and fly buttons.
• Button-fly front closure.
• Complex front pocket construction combining patch-type and slash-type patterns to accommodate the wrap leg.
• No open pocket seams.
• Rear patch pockets cut with the warp running horizontally.
• Flatlock chainstitch construction.
• Black tonal all-cotton stitching.

The SWABBIES feature an authentic 1940s-style US Navy dungarees silhouette with a period-correct rise and a pronounced bell-bottom leg.

Please refer to the garment measurement chart and compare it with a similar pair of trousers that fits you well. Consider your preferred fit through the waist, seat, and thigh, along with the intended full flare of the leg when selecting a size.

CARE

Turn the garment inside out before washing. Machine wash on DELICATE in cold water using a mild, eco-friendly detergent. Line dry.

Wash with similarly colored garments. Indigo crocking and color transfer are expected with dark indigo fabrics.

The double indigo twill will develop an interesting patina with normal wear and occasional laundering, not unlike vintage US Navy dungarees.

STORY

The MF® SWABBIES draw inspiration from vintage US Navy private-purchase denim dungarees of the 1940s and 1950s, preserving the distinctive character and functional design of these iconic naval trousers.

The wrap-leg design eliminates a conventional outseam and requires an intricate pocket construction developed specifically around the pattern. Selvedge is incorporated throughout the folded waistband, front pockets, watch pocket, and rear pockets, while period-inspired donut buttons, flatlock chainstitching, and tonal cotton thread reinforce the garment's vintage naval character.

This Type II edition is cut from a dark 10 Oz. selvedge double indigo twill milled in Japan. With regular wear and occasional laundering, the fabric will develop an especially interesting patina reminiscent of vintage US Navy dungarees.
