A fabulous cream silk Swiss waist or corselet, a belt worn over the clothing and popular during the mid-19th century. Circa 1860s.
Hook and eye closures (missing the hooks). Lined and boned. Wonderful silk tassels from the front and back. Decorative cording resembles lacing on both sides.

Lovely condition overall with some minor age-related wear and a few minor flaws. Some wear to the silk and some staining on the lining. Missing the hook closures. Likely too delicate to wear, as I would be afraid to put strain in the thin, old silk. Great as a display or study piece.
