This stunning aide-memoire or notebook circa mid-19th century features a gorgeous carved mother of pearl cover and watered silk interior, as well as a small pencil.
Carving depicts a seated woman overlooking a cityscape.
Inside the small notebook (10 pages including inside covers) there is a French stamp which reads:

Interestingly enough, it seems as though this address is where the first croissants were sold between 1837 and 1839. At least that's what came up when I researched this address! This piece seems to date from a bit later than that, but I cannot find any information by searching the text.

Lovely condition with some minor wear. Tiny chip on top edge and bottom right corner of front cover. Some minor soiling of the silk lining and wear along the paper spine.
